Oakley Brooks is an American journalist whose writing has appeared in newspapers and magazines around the world, including the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times and the International Herald Tribune. In 2009, he was writer-in-residence at the Earth Observatory of Singapore at Nanyang Technological University, among scientists researching earthquakes, volcanoes, tsunamis and climate change. He lives in Portland, Oregon, on the eastern edge of the Pacific “Ring of Fire”.
